Water is naturally hard, this hardness can cause scaling in the boiler if the hardness is not removed before entering the boiler. Water Softeners exchange ions in the water to soften the water before it is fed to the boiler. Water hardness can be drastically different based on location and water source. It is important to size your water softener with your known harness, operating hours, and makeup percentage. Making sure the water softener is sized correctly ensures the effectiveness of the water softener and the reliability of the system.

Numbers should be of the format: 1,234.56, 1234, 0.12, etc.
